I picked 'em!

So, today I had a glimpse of what my life is going to be like 10+ years from now. Today was the first day that I actually had to take Oakley to someones house to watch him. When my mom was in town, she came over to my house to watch him while I worked. He has been waking up at 5:30 lately for a feeding, so I was a little flustered when he was still asleep at 6:30. Any other day, I would have welcomed the sleep, but I had to leave. So, I decided to go into his room to make a lot of noise to get him to wake up. That's when the moaning began. He was squeaking, and grunting, then groaning. After about five minutes of that, he fell back asleep! I then decided to be mean and flip on the lights. He squeaked and groaned some more, and threw his arms up over his head and buried his face in the crook of his arm! He was just refusing to wake up-I can only imagine what he's going to be like as a teenager!

Now, to my lovely husband. Right after we had a discussion during dinner about how we hope Oakley has some common sense as a teen, Shawn walked over to the dishwasher. He had loaded it just before we went to scouts, and opened it to grab some spoons our for us (which we're always running out of!). As soon as he cracked it open, he just looked at me and laughed. If you look at the pictures, you'll see why. I asked him what was wrong, as I couldn't see the dishwasher. He came to the conclusion that, "apparently, you're not supposed to put black candles in the dishwasher". ...He's so lucky I love him!... I was trying to figure out what black candle we had anywhere in the house, let alone one that needed to be washed. I was struggling until he said, "I put it in because it had cake on it". It was then that I realized I had a black tombstone "Over the Hill" candle on his birthday cake. Gotta love 'em. I've been having fun scraping off the wax globs, sure hope it comes off all the dishes.
